JV With Dave

I’m always willing to check out potential joint ventures that are a good mutual fit. That said, I get a lot of JV pitches and I’m pretty sensitive about making sure that anything I bring to my readers is of top quality.

For the purposes of keeping things simple, I’ve compiled a few criteria for potential JVs. If your product/service fits these criteria, feel free to contact me. Otherwise, don’t. It isn’t that I’m trying to be rude… it is just saving us both the hassle.

  1. Your product must be a good fit for my audience. And, in case it isn’t clear yet, I have a readership of mostly bloggers and online business owners. If your product isn’t directly relevant, I won’t promote it.
  2. Your marketing must be classy. No hype. No yellow-highlighter, red-flashy crap. No “get rich quick” stuff, or promises of easy money with no work. It insults my readers’ intelligence. And mine.
  3. You must have a clean reputation. What I mean by this is that it shouldn’t tarnish my reputation to promote you. We all know some in internet marketing will say or do anything to make a buck. You don’t have to be perfect (who is?), but I think you know what I’m talking about.
  4. You must be willing to hook me up with a freebie. Not because I’m looking for stuff, but simply because if I’m going to promote your product, I need to check it out myself. If I don’t like it, I won’t promote it. If I think it is awesome, I’ll blazen you in big lights to my audience. But, I gotta get a look-see first.
  5. The JV needs to have high leverage for me. Nothing personal, but if I’m going to dedicate my time to something, I need to know that my ROI is there. If you ask me for an interview, for example, I need to know it is going to be seen by a decent volume of people. I don’t want to invest an hour of my time for a list of 100 people. So, let’s make sure any JV we do together is a win-win situation for us both.

OK, if you fit the criteria, you can contact me about a potential JV using this form…
